Meet Janie

Hello!

My passion is helping young people and adults develop a love for the game. I do that by teaching them the basic strokes and strategies of tennis in a fun way. I want each person who walks in to walk away with a skill that will last a lifetime.

Whether you're a beginner at age 4 or a seasoned player on an interclub or USTA team, my desire is to do all I can to take you from where you are to where you want to be. My job is to help you clarify your goals and then help you plan your tennis itinerary so that you take the shortest route to your destination.

And how do you improve and fulfill your goals? By becoming aware of what you need to work on, learning how to do it correctly and then practicing like crazy until your new skill becomes as normal as brushing your teeth.

Relative to my tennis background, I played #1 singles in college, competed against Division I schools in the northeast and achieved the MVP award. I’ve competed for the last 30 years in USTA leagues and achieved a #1 ranking in Tennessee in doubles and mixed doubles. Having learned a great deal from several teaching pros and coaches over the years, I am continuing that education by taking ongoing tennis training and certification classes.

So, if you want to learn this great game and have fun doing it, you've come to the right place. My research and experience concur that kids and adults learn best when they are engaged in activities that allow them to have fun, be active and be with friends. As one parent recently shared,

"My daughter is enjoying her lessons so much. After last week’s lesson she said, 'I had so much fun today! I’m so glad you signed me up for this Mommy!' It made my heart so happy to hear her say that, considering that she was so scared and nervous her first day that she did not want to get out of the car. Thank you for all you do to instruct in such a fun way!” ~Julie Griesen, Maryville, TN

I look forward to meeting you and helping you learn, improve and enjoy this great game that has given me so much.

C'ya on the courts!
Janie
